KEVIN BOOTH It is with deep sadness the family would like to announce the passing of Kevin Booth on October 24, 2010 at the Concordia Hospital. Kevin was predeceased by his father Dick and his grandparents. He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother Marilyn, sister Kim (John) Shaw, his uncles Dick (Marion) Carr and Allan (Jackie) Booth, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours. Kevin joined the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corp Qu'Appelle at the age of 13; this began a lifelong love for the sea, sailing and the navy. At 18, Kevin enlisted in the Naval Reserve where he trained as a cook and later as a diesel mechanic. Kevin volunteered with the Manitoba Variety Club, Provincial Curling and at the Wide World of Faith Church Food Bank. Kevin worked for the Winnipeg Police Service for 31 years. He was a member of the White Ensign Naval Club, Branch 215 of the Royal Canadian Legion, and the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons. He loved spending time at the Northern Harbour with his sailing yacht and friends. Kevin was a civilian instructor for the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corp Qu'Appelle; he loved working with the cadets, and enjoyed being involved in the recent trip to take part in the 60th Anniversary of the Liberation of Holland. Funeral Services officiated by Pastor Marvin Simmons, will be held on October 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street.
